An UroToday survey involving 522 Greek urban men aged 16-62 years unveiled a set of interesting results pertaining to the prevalence of premature ejaculation and other ejaculation problems.
The study authors strived to ascertain the frequency of early ejaculation disorders and long-term ejaculation problems in city-bred male population of Greece. Common risk factors for premature ejaculation were considered in the survey that was conducted using a questionnaire, handed out to all the participants.
More than half of the total number of men who took part in the survey reported a problem known clinically as early ejaculation disorder, a condition in which a man attempting to have sexual intercourse reaches orgasm too early. More than 17 out of 100 men suffered from lifelong ejaculation problems, mostly attributed to risk factors such as prostate problems and erectile dysfunction.
Not so surprisingly, stress was generally found to be playing the spoilsport in bed for a majority of the participants. Earlier research too suggested that stress, along with anxiety and depression, can lead to rapid ejaculation, particularly in young men. About half of the total number of subjects believed their problem to be psychological, while a large percentage (69.5) of them hesitated to seek appropriate treatment.
The study authors also found that 69.2% of the sufferers preferred to seek treatment anonymously online. It may be noted that premature ejaculation treatment is available on the internet at registered online clinics that offer safe, reliable and convenient treatment options under the supervision of qualified healthcare professionals.
