sex is integral to a happy marriage

Experts say there are more reasons to celebrate marital sex than to denounce it and make an issue out of it, reports a leading Nigerian daily newspaper.

On interviewing sexual health experts, Vanguard says a healthy sex life boosts both personal and social bonding in couples, adding that people in marital relationships can expect to enjoy good overall health when sex remains fun.

According to sexual health experts, a healthy sex life can guarantee a number of key merits. First, regular sex can strengthen immunity and keep diseases at bay. Second, sex can be a great remedy for lack of sleep and can also be an effective stress-buster.

The Lagos-based newspaper notes that couples who enjoy their sex lives are found to be less aggressive and more cheerful compared to those who find sex boring. Quite interestingly, women are reported to have more problems with sex than men, implying that female sexual dysfunction is still a major cause for concern in many marital relationships, the daily indicates.

The experts interviewed by Vanguard have shared their candid viewpoints on some of the factors that make or break marriages:

1. Couples must be positive about their sex appeal and feel worthy to be sexually desired.

2. Communication between partners should be clear, frank and honest.

3. Couples must be able to voice their likes and dislikes without hesitation.

4. Partners must have accurate knowledge about sexuality.

5. It is important that two people in marriage must know how to tackle social, physical, emotional, and situational restrictions and still be happy in each other’s company.
