Record breaking dad Raymond Calvert has revealed that he didn’t use Viagra in order to father his newly born child.
What makes this feat so astonishing is that Mr Calvert was 78 years old when his child was born, breaking the former record set by Dennis Ealam of Lincoln who was a ripe 76 when his wife gave birth last year.
Mr Calvert was overjoyed with the arrival of Jamie Rai and admitted that he didn’t actually think that it was possible for him to have a child at his age. The father of seven and grandfather of nine had met his partner Charlotte after having a three year relationship with her mother. He revealed that not only was the pregnancy planned, he did not use any type of erectile dysfunction treatment in order to conceive the child. Although Mr Calvert has not revealed the secrets behind his success, many experts believe that the foremost form of erectile dysfunction treatment is simply living a healthier life.
The couple had originally been mere acquaintances, but the more time they spent together the closer they became. Charlotte, who is now 25, would go on holidays with Mr Calvert and his family, and eventually the couple fell in love. As their love blossomed, Charlotte realised that she wanted a child and wanted Raymond to be the father. She told The Sun that the couple had “conceived virtually the moment we stopped using contraception” and admitted that she “was gobsmacked. You just think it’s going to take longer with somebody older.”
Mr Calvert is certainly enjoying being a father again as well as being somewhat of a minor celebrity, he revealed that only a few weeks ago he was accosted by a group of bikers who rushed to shake his hand. One biker even told him “I hope I can be like you at your age!”
